Cebu, Part 7: Mission accomplished (sort of)

When I set out to do this solo Cebu trip, my aim was to actually experience Cebu as a adventure-seeking, water-loving tourist. Did I achieve that goal? For the most part, yeah, which is why despite my unfortunate Kalanggaman experience, I did feel wistful when the trip had to come to an end. Thanks for sticking around for this last of the series.

Cebu, Part 6: Troubled waters to Kalanggaman Island

So… I don’t really know how to begin this post other than to say sorry about the loooong wait between installments. As 2019 is finally upon us, I’m going to do something different. I’m not going to promise anything to avoid disappointing you. Instead, I’m just going to try harder to be more prompt with my posts. I hope that hasn’t turned you off yet. If it hasn’t, let’s get on with the next part of my little Cebu escapade.

Cebu, Part 1: Let’s get it right this time

Three times. Three times I’ve been to Cebu. You know how many of those trips were spent at the beach? One, and for just a couple of hours. This is why I wanted to go back, to rectify this mistake, especially since Cebu’s beaches are pretty famous. For a person who enjoys swishing her toes in white sand and cool salt water, this little time spent along a shore—any shore—is unacceptable, so this time around, I was dead-set on beaching the shit out of this trip.

Try your luck at Shamrock Tavern (hotel review)

Unfortunately, I once again got sucked into a black hole that prevented me from keeping my blog updated. It’s been a while since my last post, so now I’m buckling down to get this thing going again. Hopefully you’re still interested in what I have to say. I promise I’ll make this one worthwhile, especially if you’re planning a trip to Sagada, which is what this post will be about.

Sagada, Day 3: I’m on top of the world, ‘ay

(OK, no more procrastinating. Here’s the last leg of my Sagada trip. Sorry it took so long.)

So I woke up at about 3:30AM, got dressed, got my shit together, and headed down the lobby to check out and wait for our tour driver. Why so early? We were headed to Kiltepan Peak to see the famed “sea of clouds” hopefully roll into view. It’s one of the most popular attractions in Sagada, so getting there early wasn’t just to catch the sunrise but to get a patch of ground not occupied by another hopeful tourist.

Sagada, Day 2: Are we there yet?

(Wow, have I kept people waiting for a long time. I hope I haven’t lost you since Day 1. Sorry about that, but anyway…)

I woke up at about 5:30 so I could get dressed and go out to grab an early breakfast before this morning’s escapade: Bomod-Ok Falls. Despite the burning I was already feeling in my muscles from yesterday’s spelunking, I went out and looked into different convenience stores to find some pandesal for breakfast, then went back to the hotel to have coffee. Finally, 7 came around and so did the empty van, into which the three amigos and I piled, all in the back (remember the girl’s request yesterday?)
